Hello everyone! I hope that you’re all doing well in quarantine and staying safe and healthy. More importantly, I hope that you’re wearing masks out in public– please think of others around you!
It’s been a while since I’ve posted but I wanted to share an animation that I’ve been working on. It’s a recreation from my undergraduate years, and I’m super happy to show how I’ve grown as an artist and animator. It took almost four days to work on this animation, probably looking at around 24-48 hours in total.
This is not the final project: I still have to take care of the sound design. (This is a project that I’m making entirely for my sound design class.)
I chose the song Imitation of Life by REM because it tells the story of someone who is struggling to truly show who they are; of someone who feels like they need to hide because they will be ridiculed or hurt. But that person finds someone who loves them; someone who can help them work through their problems and eventually let their guard down. The message is that even if you’re not entirely happy or you are feeling scared, that’s okay– as long as you have a love that can help you make it through.
