Content Warnings for Haunting Melody

The protagonist of this book struggles with internalized fatphobia and post-traumatic stress disorder, the latter of which she is receiving treatment for. Although the protagonist does not have a formal eating disorder diagnosis, mentions of disordered eating habits and other fatphobic comments are within this story. Also included: gore (including partial dismemberment, dead bodies, blood, and facial disfigurement), death (including teen death), graphic violence, kidnapping, mentions of drugging someone’s drink, mentions of torture, brief discussions of butchphobia, brief depiction of parental abuse, and description/discussion of an emotionally abusive relationship between the protagonist and her ex.
